Previous College: Played two years at Catawba College. Split time between #1 and #2 singles and was a 2009 All-South Atlantic Conference selection. Also played at #1 doubles.

High School: 2008 gradaute of St. Stephens Episcopal High School. Earned "Most Improved" award on the tennis team, and helped the team reach the state tournament. Also a letterwinner and two-time MVP in golf.
